My Recent Adventures
People always ask, “When did you start sewing,” and “How have you learned so much,” since I seem young to be draping fabric and making custom pieces. Honestly, there wasn’t an exact start to when I began sewing. When I was five, my grandma would help me make my own little purses, and at seven and eight, my favorite client was Barbie. But when I was nine years old, my mom put me in actual sewing lessons. She said I needed something to do after school, and it may as well be a skill I could actually use. (And thank you Mom!!! I couldn't have gotten here without you! <3 ) I took lessons off and on for around three years, but only learned basic skills to make things like pillowcases and purses. Since the classes were pretty far away, we decided to have one of our friends come to our house to teach me and my sister, as well as a few others, in a small group. Out of all the girls, I showed the most excitement for sewing, and continued to progress. At one point, my teacher told me I could continue sewing in the class, but she no longer needed to help me. I used YouTube to learn new techniques, then as I progressed, figured out myself anything I couldn’t find there. That was also when I taught myself how to design and make my own clothes. And that pretty much brings us to now! I continue to sew and design, and though I know WAY more than I did in the beginning, I am still learning today. I feel like this is a good time to start my website and share what I have with the world, so I can keep learning and making my dreams come true!
Right now I am working on my first collection, Primrose! I am over the moon with excitement, and though I want to tell y’all everything, I have to hold back some surprises! I’ve been working super hard, and I really hope that you’ll like it! As of right now, I don’t know when and where I will be showing, but I will put up the details as soon as I do.
Just a few other things I’ve been working on…
I will be posting YouTube videos, though I don’t know exactly when at this moment. I have one filmed, but still need to find time to edit it.
You may have already seen that I will be selling items here on my website. I am currently working on a few items that will go in the shop, but please understand that there won’t be a constant flow of items to buy. I will be making a certain amount of pieces, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I will try to put pieces up on my site as often as I can, but I still have to work on my collection and (ugh) school. I also offer custom pieces, so please contact me if you’re interested in a one-of-a-kind design!
